While being a stuntman is a great job in your 20’s, and even in your 30’s, in your 40’s you’re less inclined to throw yourself around – knowing what it might cost you!
Many stunt performer’s have been injured, some fatally, and the more you work, the greater the likelihood of picking up an injury.
By the time I was in my 40’s work was still sporadic and I had become more choosy about the work I wanted.
I realised I needed something else to help me escape the stunt business, because the money was so good that I could work sporadically and still earn a pretty good living.
I had time and money, but not really freedom – I was still shackled to the stunt business because I had become accustomed to the money, and nothing else quite paid the same, or was as enjoyable to do!
Affiliate Marketing
I had dabbled with eBay, making a little on the side around the stunt work, but I hadn’t really be able to replace my stunt income.
I created my own ebook and tried to sell it – “How To Become A Stuntman”. However, selling a digital product online was harder than I had thought. So I took a course which taught me how to sell digital products online.
I found a business model called affiliate marketing, and quickly ditched my ebook in favour of this business model. With affiliate marketing you can earn 40% selling pre-existing products.
In 2014 I joined another training program. I found an online community which helped me make my first high ticket sale. This changed everything for me, and I began to see the internet as a real opportunity to create more freedom.
With a job, any job, you need to keep turning up to keep getting paid. But through the sale of digital products I was able to build an income which came in whether I worked or not through using automation, digital products and subscription sales.
